We’re still reeling after reading this story last week that a federal appeals court in the US ruled that it was fine for US customs agents to go through the content of an airline passengers laptop with no evidence of wrong doing – just because they felt like it.
In spite of endless security scares, and reports of dire service, it seems that us Brits are just loving that online banking thing, according to new research from online stat-shufflin’ dudes Comscore.

ReiserFS creator, Hans Reiser, has been found guilty of killing his wife.
ReiserFS is an open source filing system that has been popular with Linux users.
Reiser moved to sell his company, Namesys, back at the end of December 2006, when he said that he needed the money to pay his mounting legal costs. It’s understood that the sale didn’t occur.
Nina Reiser’s body was never found, but her traces of her blood were found in his house and car.
OK, we were all very excited about the idea of a WiFi detectors when we first saw the pocket-sized version and a couple of the subsequent ones. Finally it would be possible to work out where to connect, without first having to get your laptop out to … work out where there was some wireless.
Then the joy went out of it as tons of the things arrived, with the occassional exception … or two.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that our office used to rattle to the deafening sound of a chunky monochrome dot matrix printer producing its highly variable printouts, but if proof were needed of the onward march of technology, check out Samsung’s new bijou colour laser printers.

MSI have just released a set of publicity shots for their soon-come budget- ultraportable laptop, labelled the MSI Wind.
We have to say it looks purdy as a picture too, with a smart all-white finish, rounded edges, sleek lines and none of those ugly gaps either side of the screen (like the first-gen Eee).

Finnish mobile phone kings Nokia have whisked away the covers on three shiny new handsets which they claim “merge modern functionality with classic and sophisticated looks.”
We’re always up for a bit of merging and have to say all three look rather dandy in their high gloss, smoothed edge, understated way.
Primed for release in the US tomorrow is Lenovo’s new IdeaPad U110, a natty looking ultraportable that has certainly piqued our interest.
Resplendent in an unusual etched flowery finish, the Lenovo comes in red or black finishes and looks to be following IBM/Lenovo traditions with a fairly rugged construction that could take a few knocks on the road.
