    Is The Love Affair With Apple Over? WWDC Fans SubduedWatching The Keynote by The Steve at yesterday’s WWDC, Apple Developers Conference in San Francisco, it was notable that the normal level of insane adulation was absent.

    Don’t get us wrong, we’re still huge Mac fans, but many times where it was clear that The Steve was expecting at least applause – on past experience, it’s more common for the audience to stand on their chairs whooping as if witnessing the second coming – the audience gave no reaction at all.

    Apple Releases Safari Browser For WindowsThe browser wars just kicked off again as Apple’s CEO announced a new Windows rival for market leaders Microsoft Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

    Declaring himself ready to “dream big,” Steve Jobs declared that he wanted his company to expand on the the 4.9% market share currently enjoyed by his Safari browser, which until now has only been available on the Apple platform.

    Apple In Video On Demand Talks With Hollywood StudiosApple is knee deep in advanced talks with some of Hollywood’s biggest hotshots as it prepares to launch an online film rental service to challenge cable and satellite TV operators head on.

    According to a report in the Financial Times, the company is looking to sign up enough studios to provide a mass of in-demand premium film content.

    MacBook Pro Upgraded: Claimed 50% FasterFollowing on from the recent upgrades to the MacBook, Apple has upgraded their Pro laptop range to run the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, otherwise known as Santa Rosa, at 2.4GHz.

    Apple are claiming that it will run apps like Final Cut Pro 6 and Logic Pro 7, 50% faster that the original MacBook Pro with Core Duo – something that will be very tempting to many. With the internal graphics card now upgraded to the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, the graphics will also display 50% speed faster.

    Palm Sells Stake To Equity Firm, Ipod Genius Joins TeamFeeling the squeeze from a rampant smart-phone market and faced with the shadow of the iPhone looming large, Palm has announced that it is selling a quarter of the company as as part of a cunning reorganisation plan.

    The 25% share has been bought by Silicon Valley private equity firm Elevation Partners for about $325 million, with the terms of the transaction seeing about $940 million in dividends dished out to Palm shareholders.

    Feedburner currently manages more than 763,000 “live feeds” every day, delivering content from over 400,000 publishers, ranging from small independent publishers to big name news agencies and the Chicago-based company’s tools make it easy for users to access constant updates from their favourite bloggers, news sites and podcasters through a simplified web interface.

    Apple iPhone: Sales Restricted Until 2008?Slavering Mac fanboys anxiously counting the minutes until they can caress, fondle, drool and dribble all over their very own iPhone may be in for a very long wait.

    Industry analysts are predicting that Apple won’t be able to keep up with demand and so will restrict sales of their shiny new iPhones until 2008.

    A recent Merrill Lynch report sets the scene for much i-wailing and i-sobbing amongst the Apple cognoscenti with just 4 million iPhones rolling off the production line this year, with only a comparatively modest 12 million units coming out in 2008.
