    Although the T-Mobile G1 impressed us immensely, there were a few issues with the phone, least of all its rather chunky appearance. Compared to the sleek likes of Apple’s ubiquitous iPhone, we have to say found the Android powered contender looked rather lardy.

    Visiting their site and typing in ‘London’ and then clicking on the weather for Friday brings up a weather forecast so fearsome, nay Biblical, that we expect to see wild panic in the streets swiftly followed by a screaming stampede out of the metropolis.

    According to a comprehensive pre-release preview on the Mobile Review website, the mid-market Nokia 5730 will pack a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a two inch QVGA screen (240×320 pixels, 31×42 mm), 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS, EDGE data and Bluetooth v2.0 with support for EDR running on Symbian S60.

    If the display didn’t exactly knock us out, the keyboard was an unexpected treat. Although it’s clearly substantially smaller than a full laptop keyboard (Sony say that it’s 88 percent the size of their Sony Vaio TT keyboard, which is already smaller than a regular keyboard), it’s extremely well designed. We managed to get up a fair rate of knots on the thing with few errors and would feel comfortable typing out quite a few emails on it.

    BBC To Launch Visual Radio PlayerThe BBC is set to revolutionise radio listening with the introduction of a new “visual radio player” this month.

    The technology is set to be trialed for a week on Radio 1’s Chris Moyles weekday mornings show (6.30am to 10am) and on the Annie and Nick show on Sunday evenings (7pm to 10pm), and will let users listeners head off to the DJs website and get a load of “complementary visuals.”
