Some clever French chaps calling themselves Generation Phone House seem to have got their hands on a pre-release HTC Touch HD – and luckily enough for all of us, they’ve shot a video showing the device.
Slipping out of HTC’s ever-industrious product factory in rather a half cocked manner is two new high-end HTC Touch handsets; the Touch 3G and Touch HD.
Both seemed to have suffered leaked releases, with product pages going up and down all over t’shop, but here’s what we’ve found out so far.

We’re liking the look of Sony Ericsson’s new G705 high end smartphone.
A sleek, slide out number, the G705 packs a 2.4-inch display with automatic screen rotation taken care of by an onboard accelerometer. There’s also WiFi, aGPS with Google Maps for Mobile, a built-in FM radio, an RSS reader for grabbing your news on the move, email client and a full HTML browser – all delivered at “turbo 3G speeds.”
After casting envious looks at the hugely successful AppStore for the iPhone and hearing about Google’s proposed Android Market for the Android smartphone platform, Microsoft looks set to belatedly join the online mobile apps store party.

After a Flash demo was apparently ‘accidentally’ posted on Palm’s website, bloggers have been busy digging up more information about the forthcoming Palm Pro handset – and by all accounts it’s a bit of a beauty. Much to our joy.
HTC are, we suspect, bouncing around with considerable joy today, after they were told that their HTC Touch Diamond has won the EISA European Smart Phone of the year 2008-9 award.
The handset runs on on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional overlaid with an updated version of HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface, which is designed to keep the itty-bitty stylus in its silo and make the operating system more finger friendly.

Twitter has decided to drop the distribution of outgoing SMS in the UK, citing escalating cost.
While UK users will still be able to update Twitter using their mobiles, those updates will not be distributed via SMS to their ‘followers.’ Updates will still be visible over the Web, as previously, as well as other, third-party services.
