Just 3% Of User Recycle Mobile Phones
Despite our endless enthusiasm for shiny new mobiles, just 3% of people bother to recycle their discarded mobile phones.
A new global consumer survey released by Nokia asked 6,500 people in 13 countries about what happened to their old handsets with the results making for depressing reading: the notion of recycling didn’t even cross the minds of three out of four people asked, while nearly half didn’t even think it was possible to do so.

Nikon Debuts Full Frame D700
Sidling up to fill the slot between the excellent semi-pro D300 dSLR and their wallet draining high end D3 flagship snapper is Nikon’s new D700 full-frame camera.
With its rugged design lines and black finish, the camera looks like it means business, with the D700 inheriting some of the durability characteristics of its big brother.

Publishers Condé Nast have announced that they will be launching a UK version of their popular Wired magazine next year, with an accompanying Brit-based website coming right up too.
Ex-Guardian Unlimited editor and current Jewish Chronicle editor, David Rowan, has bagged the job of editing the publication, with the debut issue of the monthly technology magazine expected to start jumping into newsagents in the first half of 2009.

Microsoft Stops Selling XP To Major Retailers
Microsoft is set to stop selling its long-serving Windows XP operating system to retailers and major computer makers from today, with the company shunting all new customers on to its newer Vista operating system.
The news hasn’t gone down well with a sizeable slice of Windows users who really don’t fancy being forced into using the resource-hogging, eye candy treats of XP’s successor, but despite Internet campaigns, petitions and exhortations to keep XP soldiering on, Microsoft looks hell bent on retiring its venerable operating system.
