If you’ve not been into the contacts section of Google Mail recently, you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you do, to see that it’s had a pretty major makeover. We might have noticed it earlier, but we avoided using the old contacts system as it was so clunky previously.

Broadband Rural Customers Lag Behind City Slickers
Londoners lap up broadband almost twice as fast as folks in in Wales and Northern Ireland, according to a survey by BBC News.
The speed tests were carried out by Thinkbroadband.com who whipped out the white coats, chewed pencil ends and rifled through papers as they spent two months analysing broadband speeds in no less than 6,000 locations.

Smartphones have become a bigger security risk for businesses than laptops and mobile storage device according to new research.
Conducted by the ‘endpoint data protection supplier’ (a wha’?) company, Credant Technologies, the survey quizzed 300 senior IT staff and found that 94 per cent of them reckoned that PDA/smartphones presented a bigger security risk than the traditional ultra risky USB mobile storage devices, which registered a 88 per cent risk. With Computex 2008 warming up nicely, Asustek have been busy dishing out more details on their shiny new products including the ‘mini desktop’ Eee Box B202.
We’re liking the look of these shiny boxes very much indeedy, with Asus’s engineers creating a light (2.2lbs) and portable 8.5″ x 7″ x 1″ unit that is small enough to be dwarfed by a paperback book.

Apple are ‘keeping it real’ again this year, with the second iTunes Music Festival. It’s an opportunity to actually see the people who normally just trickle out of your iPod headphones for speakers.
This year’s event will be at Koko in Camden (nee the Camden Palace), between 1 – 31 July. It’s all opening with N*E*R*D on 1 July. There’s 60 bands playing in total with other artists performing include The Ting Tings, CSS and Chaka Khan.
