With mobile broadband proving a big hit with bandwidth hungry punters, there are fears that networks may become wobblier than Bruce Grobbelaar’s legs as data hungry punters send demand soaring.
A new study by research boffins Berg Insight reckons that with Long Term Evolution and High Speed Packet Access technology on course to become fitted to laptops as standard in the next few years, the mobile broadband market is going to hit enormodome proportions.
We’ve been pretty excited about the eagerly awaited Sony Xperia X1 smartphone which we first talked about back in February this year.

Rumbling off Nokia’s great production mills are two additions to its E series range, the QWERTY E71 and E66 slider phones.
Both have emerged from lard free diets, sporting trim bodies just 10mm thick for the E71 (pictured above) and 13.6mm for the E66, with a novel ‘quick switch’ letting users change from business to personal use. This tie-loosening types switch home screens, email accounts and calendar to their personal choices as soon as they’ve got the hell out of the office.

Details of Sony Ericssons new range of phones have been leaking all over the Web, with the most interesting being the gaming- orientated F305.
Although it’s low on the usual hi-tech features we’ve grown to love – there’s no Wi-Fi or GPS for starters – the silvery thing packs a built-in accelerometer for Wii-style motion controlled games, and a set of PlayStation-like gaming keys next to the display, with a shortcut key to games.
