Sitting at the very top of the range of seven digital compact cameras announced by Nikon today is the Coolpix P5100
Its new flagship digicam updates the P5000, adds a new digital image processing engine and wedges in a slightly beefier 12.1 megapixel sensor.

The L15 is more or less identical to the L14, substituting an 8.0 megapixel sensor and adding optical lens shift VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilisation at the sacrifice of the superlong battery life.

Lurking closest to the bargain bin is the Nikon Coolpix L14, an entry-level jobbie which Nikon claims has the honour of having the longest battery life of any 3x zoom compact – a niche category if ever we saw one.

Created to celebrate the emerging art form of made-for-mobile films, the Treo Mobile Comedy Film Festival is still open to entries from aspiring film makers.
Open to wannabe mobile videomakers from the United States, Canada, and good ol’Blighty, the entry deadline is 14th September 2007, with entrants having to be 18 or over.

We were privileged to get our hands on the Pacemaker a while back – something we’d had a burning desire to do since we first heard about what the Pacemaker might be.
It’s a handheld DJ unit that packs a considerable punch – sufficient to make it realistic to play a whole DJ set using just the Pacemaker and no external units.
Slightly smaller than a vertically held PSP, it packs a 120GB drive; a colour display at the top touch sensitive cross-fader in the middle; circular selection pad at the bottom; a couple of buttons on each side and connectors on the bottom.

The crew at Casio are getting ready to release two rather ho-hum pocket size Exilim cameras packing YouTube compatibility.

Designed for accessing the site via mobile phones on slow connections, FaceBook users simply have to point their phone browser at http://m.facebook.com and log in as usual.

The event took place at the T-Bar in the Tea Buildings in Shoreditch on Wednesday 15 Aug 2007. It was meant to start at 7pm but given the long queue at the door, the start was delayed.
Since Facebook made itself a development platform, people or companies can create applications to run on it. The Developers Garages events are organised by local folk with the assistance of Facebook (the company). They’re spring up around the world as developers try to suss out if there’s an opportunity.
