Sony Shifts One Million Slim PSPs In JapanSony has announced that their less-lardy version of its PSP handheld gaming device has been eagerly scooped up by over one million gamers in Japan, notching up one million sales in September.

The slimmer, lighter version managed to fly past the one million mark in just eight weeks – a big improvement on the original PSP which took two and half months to notch up the milestone sales figure.

Sony a700 dSLR AnnouncedSony have officially announced a new model in the Alpha range, the a700. Headline features are 12.24Mpx, a new “responsive high speed processor,” 5fps continuous shooting, 3-inch 921k dot photo-quality LCD. It’s also got a tie-in across the product range feature of ‘PhotoTV HD,’ HD1080 image display on new BRAVIA televisions, via an on-board HDMI port.

There´s been a lot of chatter about the Sony Rolly. It’s been unclear what it is, or what it really does and by not revealing anything, Sony are starting to claw back some of the ‘magic’ that Apple has been enjoying for ages.

A video of it has _just_ come out (it was posted 36 minutes ago) … and it doesn’t really give you any more info as to what it might be. It moves around and flaps a little by the look of it. The thing that surprised us is how small it is.

All Laptop Batteries Japanese experts have warned that the fundamental technology behind lithium-ion cells – the batteries that currently power most laptops and mobile phones – is inherently iffy and the design must be changed toot de suite for the safety of consumers.

Professor Masataka Wakihara of the Tokyo Institute of Technology – who has the unusual job of advising the Japanese Government about battery safety – has said that changes must be made to the manufacturing process to ensure that they are robust enough for everyday use.
