Sky Files First Loss for Six Years
The interim results for UK satellite broadcaster Sky have been announced, with a £36 million pre-tax loss showing for the six-month
period ending 31 December – its first loss for six years.

BBC iPlayer Soars In Popularity
Media analyst spods Screen Digest have released updated usage data and forecasts for the online TV market in the UK.
The company say that a “surge” in punters feeling the downloading love for the BBC’s iPlayer catch-up service has sent them scurrying back to their labs and adding some more 0s on the end of estimates for free-to-view (FTV) TV consumption in the UK.

32Gb iPod touch & 16Gb iPhone Added
Apple have today added two new models with increased storage to both the iPhone and iPod touch ranges.
For those of you who didn’t think the iPhone was quite expensive enough, the 16GB model will cost an extra £60 than the existing 8GB, pushing it up to £329 (inc VAT). The 8Gb will remain at £269 inc.
Yahoo Elbows Its Music Subscription Service, Microsoft Bid Updates
While the web is ablaze with talk of Microsoft’s possible buyout of Yahoo, the former search engine king is shunting its music subscription customers to Rhapsody as a cost-saving exercise.
American subscribers to Yahoo Music Unlimited can download an unlimited number of tracks, which only remain playable if the users keep up with their $6 per month payments.
