    Now sporting Thinner edges and a full black plastic back, the upgraded handset runs iPhone 2.0 firmware, with Apple claiming that it will load webpages quicker than the N95 and Treo 750 (quote why they’re boasting about it being faster than the 18 month old Treo is anyone’s guess mind.)

    Broadband Rural Customers Lag Behind City SlickersLondoners lap up broadband almost twice as fast as folks in in Wales and Northern Ireland, according to a survey by BBC News.

    The speed tests were carried out by Thinkbroadband.com who whipped out the white coats, chewed pencil ends and rifled through papers as they spent two months analysing broadband speeds in no less than 6,000 locations.

  • Smartphones “Bigger Security Risk” Than Lappies

    Smartphones Smartphones have become a bigger security risk for businesses than laptops and mobile storage device according to new research.

    Conducted by the ‘endpoint data protection supplier’ (a wha’?) company, Credant Technologies, the survey quizzed 300 senior IT staff and found that 94 per cent of them reckoned that PDA/smartphones presented a bigger security risk than the traditional ultra risky USB mobile storage devices, which registered a 88 per cent risk.
