It’s only been four months that Ashley Highfield has been with Project Kangeroo, the UK independent TV answer to the BBC’s iPlayer, but it’s been reported that he’s leaving – before it’s even publicly launched.
Digital-Lifestyles pre-empted and reported thousands of articles on the then-coming impact that technology was to have on all forms of Media. Launched in 2001 as a research blog to aid its founder, Simon Perry, present at IBC 2002, it grew into a wide ranging, multi-author publication that was quoted in many publications globally including the BBC, was described by the Guardian as 'Informative' and also cited in a myriad of tech publications before closing in 2009

Smartphone Hits The #1 Best Selling Slot In US
For years, Brits were baffled by the continuing dominance of the Motorola RAZR at the top of the US best selling handset listings, but it’s finally been booted off and – for the first time – replaced by a smartphone which now sits at the top of the pile. That handset is, of course, the Apple iPhone which has proved more popular than a bucket of alcopops at a teenagers party,
T-Mobile’s Stupid, Stupid Upgrading Policy (pt. 2)
After filing our complaint a few days, ago, we finally received a response from T- Mobile.
Feedback from other readers here and web reports already had our expectations running low, and they did indeed confirm that as loyal customers of 10 years standing, we could expect no discount at all on an upgrade to the G1 phone.
Worse than that, they insisted that our decade’s worth of loyalty would be rewarded with an additional charge of £305, while a brand new customer could pick up the same phone – on exactly the same contract – for absolutely nothing. How crazy is that?
The T-Mobile rep we spoke to certainly seemed to empathise with our position: reading between the lines he was well fed up having to tell long-paying customers that they’re going to be royally shafted by his company (he actually started the call saying that it ‘wasn’t a call he’d been looking forward to making’).
T-Mobile’s Inexplicably Stupid Upgrading Policy
We’ve been with T-Mobile for well over a decade, first signing up when they were known with One2One.
We’ve always been on yearly contracts, but in recent years had elected not to take them up on their offer of a new handset at the end of the contract, preferring to take a discount instead.
As our contract had recently ran out, we gave them a call seeing what kind of deal we could get for the new G1 (which they have exclusive UK rights to). Here’s how the cheery call went:

Google Chrome: Plug In Support Updated; Watchdog Slams ‘Privacy Threat’
We’ve been loving the speedy operation of Google’s Chrome browser, but a few glitches – mainly to do with plug in support – have been holding us back from making it our number one browser.
The lack of an adblock plugin has been annoying us, and as power users we’re still preferring the power and flexibility offered by Firefox’s arsenal of plug ins and add ons.
