Olympus is prepping a new Four-Thirds E520 dSLR for release at the end of the month.
We were such big fans of its predecessor, the E510, that it earned a place in a place in our our Best Budget dSLRs Of 2007 rankings, so we’ve high hopes for this one.

You may well be aware of the transparent desktop crazy that’s been around a few years (we used a photo earlier this week).
People take photos of what’s behind their computer screen, then load these photos up as wallpapers on their computer desktop – then take another photo of the real world and the computer screen.
Yesterday we kicked off our guide by starting to underline your rights as a photographer. Today we continue to look at where you can or can’t take pics.
Despite the law being clear on a citizen’s rights to freely take pictures in public places (with a few restrictions) there is growing evidence of the police, police community support officers (PCSOs), security guards and general jobsworths failing to respect the rights of photographers going about their lawful business.

Sony has announced the Handycam HDR-TG3E, claiming it to be the World’s smallest HD 1080 Camcorder – and judging by the photos we’ve had through, they’re more than likely right. The thing looks tiny.
Sized at little larger than a mobile phone (33 x 119 x 63.5mm and 283g), Sony say it’s the smallest, slimmest, lightest camcorder ever to feature 1920×1080 Full HD recording with crisp 5.1ch surround sound.
With a manly shift of the megapixel gearbox, Sony have upped the ante with the news of its new 13.6 megapixel Cyber-Shot DSC W300 compact digital camera.

Ricoh have announced their new R8 compact digital camera, wielding a hefty 7.1x optical wide-angle zoom lens
(28–200 mm, 35 mm focal length equiv) and a 1/2.3-inch CCD, 10 megapixel sensor.
A long time favourite with the Digi-Lifestyle crew, ACDSee’s Windows photo manager has always impressed us with its ability to take a manly grip on large, unruly digital photo collections and slap them into nice ordered piles.
