After months of bedwetting anticipation for Apple fanboys around the UK, His Royal iHighness, Steve Jobs, has shuffled his rollneck personage into London to announce the first European carrier for the 8GB iPhone.
In a deal that one insider described as “madly money-losing,” O2 has secured exclusive UK rights to flog the innovative new phone, with a launch scheduled for November 9th.

Lusty lovelorn loners looking for love are likely to push revenues from mobile dating and chatroom services past the $1bn mark by 2010, according to a new report by Juniper Research.
The research firm estimates that users of such services are set to soar to 260m in 2012, substantially up from the current tally of 40m.
The report points to strong demand in both developed and emerging markets, including more than 60m users in the Indian sub-continent, with the largest mobile dating markets being Japan and India.

The days of a truly connected globe are drawing nearer with the news that China now has more than 600 million mobile phone users.
The figures, for June this year, mean that every one in five mobile phone users is Chinese with the user base increasing by 40.56 million from the end of last year – a hefty 6.76 million per month, on average.

Microsoft has lost its appeal against a court ruling that they abused their dominant position in Europe.
The judgement released today was handed down by the European Court of First Instance – following the hearings on 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 April 2006 – is huge, running to 1373 points.
In the courts words “The Court of First Instance essentially upholds the Commission’s decision finding that Microsoft abused its dominant position,” this is despite Microsoft providing their own shortlist of people they found acceptable to provide evident to the court and request to delay the hearing.

In this final part of the Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital SLR Camera Review we look at image quality and give you our conclusion.
Image quality
Straight out of the box and set to auto, results were pretty good, although we found the camera had a propensity to over-expose in high contrast scenes with bright sunshine and shade (curiously, other reviewers found that the Olympus under-exposed, something we only encountered a couple of times).
