Jalipo, an online video service, has announced that they will now be carrying televised sporting events.
As opposed to the more usual way of paying for the pleasure of watching sports events – on a subscriptions or pay-per-view basis – Jalipo will be charged on a pay-per-minute basis.
Their first event will be a world heavyweight champion title boxing match this Saturday, 13th October, as Evander Holyfield and Sultan Ibragimov will bash the hell out of each other in Moscow.
If you’re a new use of Jalipo, you’ll be able to sign up for the service and receive 200 credits. Depending on the quality of the stream that you watch, you’ll be able to see it for between 20.25 – 21 credits per minute.
It’s good to see that there’s a number of different methods opening up for people to access content, giving them the flexibility to choose what suits them best.
Many might think that charging for events like boxing charged by the minute may not be the best way to make money, given the matches can be over in the blink of an eye.
