We’re loving the look of Dell’s new Latitude XT2 PC touchscreen laptop.
Billed as the industry’s first tablet PC with multi-touch screen technology, the XT2 looks to be a real versatile performer, with its rotating multi-touch responsive screen supporting natural gestures like a scrolling, two-finger panning, pinch to zoom, rotating and more.
The groovy gestures are designed to work in business applications like Outlook, Word, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Earth, Acrobat and the dreaded PowerPoint.
Dell are claiming up to 11-hours of battery (6-cell plus battery slice) with the XT2 coming with a processor up to a zippy 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ULV SU9400 processor with Montevina chipset and Intel integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics.
There’s support for up to 5GB of DDR3 memory with storage options up to 120GB 5400RPM SATA disk or 128GB SSD.
The 12.1-inch LED backlit capacitive touch-screen offers 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution, with the whole chassis measuring just 11.7″ x 8.7″ x 1.1″ (297 x 220.6 x 27.4mm) and weighing a portable 3.78-pounds (1.72-kg) with the 6-cell battery.
Connectivity comes in the shape of 802.11a/g/n WiFi and gigabit Ethernet, plus eSATA, 2x USB 2.0, firewire, and ExpressCard 54 slot, and the machine runs on various flavours of Vista.
Pricing is yet to be announced.
