For computer nerds and technology freaks in New York, the place to be around Christmas was the excellent Wired Store in midtown Manhattan, which veritably bristled with the latest gadgets, gizmos and must-have widgets.
Lenovo’s W700ds, dual screen monster laptop, is an interesting beast, which is much more than can be said for the TV advert they’re using to promote it.
The ad, viewable below, is just so off the mark, it’s shocking.
The premise is well-worn and of weak humour when it was first used – Dorky bloke has a piece of technology that is so impressive that Attractive Girl can’t but throw herself at said Dork.
Seeing as many MP3 players come with cheap headphones so frightful that they make LCD Soundsystem sound like a drunk busker, spending a few bob on a decent pair can make a real difference to your sonic pleasure.

Photos claiming to show the new T-Mobile G2 have appeared on the web, with a release date set for the first half of the year.
Although the T-Mobile G1 impressed us immensely, there were a few issues with the phone, least of all its rather chunky appearance. Compared to the sleek likes of Apple’s ubiquitous iPhone, we have to say found the Android powered contender looked rather lardy.

We don’t mean to alarm you here, but according to leading weather forecasting site Metcheck, there’s some rather extreme weather ahead for UK citizens.
Visiting their site and typing in ‘London’ and then clicking on the weather for Friday brings up a weather forecast so fearsome, nay Biblical, that we expect to see wild panic in the streets swiftly followed by a screaming stampede out of the metropolis.
