It’s starting to feel like we could almost start a new site _just_ about data loss in the UK.
The latest is West Midlands Police who are reported as having lost a 4GB USB memory stick containing unencrypted classified information about suspected terrorists.
An officer removed it from Castle Vale police station back on Thursday 11 September, but sadly he lost it when he was called away to deal with a car crash.
It’s reported that police have already raided one property in an attempt to recover the memory stick.
Officially the police aren’t confirming the contents of the thumb drive, but there are report circulating that it contained top-secret details of terror cells currently under surveillance.
Data security companies must be rubbing their hands and picking up the phone to do a sales call.
