The original GRDigital camera was fabulous, even the RAW write times didn't bother me too much.

There is no point in buying an original GRDigital now this is out, even at a reduced price and I probably won't be upgrading to this from my GRDigital.

The only thing which lets the camera down is the sensor...but its the usual packing too much onto such a smalll sensor, and everyone does this...anyway, to my eyes it's a better picture than the rest of it competitors based on its size.

Well done Ricoh, its a great mix of a portable camera with easy to use settings and a lovely sharp lens especially at macro.

The real benefit is the RAW buffer, which is a massive improvement over the original and well worth the investment if you need the faster response time.

If you only ever shoot JPGs, it's not so clear cut seeing as Ricoh have (very generously) released a firmware update for the original GR which adds half of the features of the GRII (most notably, flash compensation).

Ricoh really should be commended for their superb customer support. How many manufacturers keep on adding useful features to cameras that have been released over two years ago?

How would you actually compare this to the original GR Digital? I suppose I'm asking, is it worth the additional money over the GR Digital?
