When challenged about the high pricing, companies normally roll out the - oh, that's because of the VAT - excuse. As per the iPhone - the US purchasers had to get a 18 month contract too. Is there no one with a little bit of power in the UK that can fight for our corner? Every bit of technology that comes ou over here is expecting us to pay a lot more then the USA or Japan. An example: The Playstation 3, costs us around £50 to £100 more then the USA or Japan and has the backwards compatibility chip missing. Now with the iphone, we have to pay the same the USA is paying for the phone but we are forced to take out a 12 or 18 month contract on top.
